I'm Katie—a UX designer, researcher, and teacher based in Durham, NC. I am a visual communicator and systems thinker who is fascinated with technology and design's influence on the human experience (and visa versa). I view design as an act of future-making and employ user-centered and speculative research methods to facilitate thoughtful and creative experiences that respond to and anticipate user needs.
My interests are multi-disciplinary and include understanding ecologies of things (human and nonhuman), future and foresight studies, speculative design, social anthropology, ethnography, systems thinking, and UX research + interface design.
